For the Executive VP who likes things simple, without the unecessary technical garble, and still be able to play Everquest 2
I was actually inspired by Everquest 2 to make this desktop, or better yet inspired to improve EQ2's performance when windowed lol. After facing countless slowdowns while playing EQ2, I desperately opened my process viewer and terminated every process that I deemed unnecessary, and performance improved slightly, so I decided to do the unthinkable. . . terminate explorer.exe. Since performance skyrocketed because I ended that process, I figured, "why don't I just stop using it altogether. .. . . ?"
The shell you're viewing now is called Emerge (defined by the system tray in the upper left corner and the transparent menu,) and uses only 55 percent (est.) of the resources explorer's enviornment used (at least on my system.) In addition, the memory used rarely increases, and doesn't drastically because all you can do is open a trimmed down program menu version of your start menu ("all users" and "current user" shortcuts.) The clock (author unknown) and the date (by Judge) are being ran using AveDesk's sysstats, also using only a fraction of resources. The programs at the bottom left of the screen are Y'z Dock and random icons I found on the internet (the majority of them here at deviantART lol.) The wallpaper is from a Longhorn wallpaper set (I can't remember the name or where to find it, the filename is "2.jpg")
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
